The health and strength of the Denver Family Institute community is evident in the generous efforts of three DFI students and their partners. DFI received direct and indirect financial gifts from DFI students in the past two months! We also receive many volunteer hours from students and alumni in support of the program which we want to acknowledge as essential to the growth and well-being of our learning community.
Kristine Ocasek and Matt Wright donated over fifteen hundred dollars worth of new furniture for one of our family therapy rooms. After the main office received new carpet and paint, Kristine found the old furniture to look very worn and old. She and her husband donated the new furniture which clients have all noticed and commented on positively.
Jenna Stapleton and her husband, Walker, approached a local foundation and successfully solicited a substantial grant to the Denver Family Institute in the amount of $7500. Jenna says that the community at DFI is extremely supportive. She was very moved by the baby shower held after class on a Wednesday night in February. The whole class rallied behind her when her water broke in class! She pledged to continue raising funds for DFI. Most recently, Nira Lipner felt inspired to give a donation to DFI. She told Rita Lewis, Program Manager, “I’ve never experienced a learning institution like this one. The dedication, the extra hours put in by the faculty and staff, the sense of community is very powerful.” In particular, Nira was touched by the recent lowering of tuition at DFI. “What training programs are lowering their tuition when they are full with more students wanting to get in?” she asked, “It shows that the focus is on our learning and growth.” Of course, students are not required to donate money to the program, and each of these gifts was unsolicited. They were given freely. For that, all of us at DFI are truly grateful. If you would like to be of service or support to Denver Family Institute by making a supportive gift, you can donate online at this website using Pay Pal. Those who would like to support DFI in other ways, such as serving as a member of our Board of Directors, volunteering time in the office, or helping with fundraising efforts, please contact us at 303-756-3340. It is through the generous support of our community, that DFI is able to maintain the lowest possible fees in our reduced fee clinic, keep tuition as affordable as possible to our students, and maintain our outstanding “second to none” clinical training faculty team. |
