Clinical PracticumA key component of the DFI training experience consists of clinical work at the DFI Relationship Counseling Center clinic. All students enrolled to complete the COAMFTE accredited Marriage and Family Therapy Training Certificate complete 250 hours of direct client contact at the clinic. The clinical work at DFI is supervised by AAMFT Approved Supervisors or experienced, licensed clinicians pursuing the approved supervisor status only. We do not utilize students or unlicensed clinicians to provide supervision at DFI. Cross-Cultural Outreach ProgramDFI welcomes enquiries from couples and family therapists interested in our program from outside of the United States and from diverse communities within the U.S. In the past, we have welcomed students from such communities to do brief to extended placements at DFI for the purposes of cultural exchange within our field. DFI faculty may visit other countries to provide training and to learn from other programs and facilities, such as Dave Blair's and Steve Litt’s work in Romania. We invite discussion about such opportunities. OPTION: Students who graduated from a COAMFTE accredited MFT Master’s Degree or Ph.D. Program (or the equivalent) seeking additional supervision hours or clinical hours post-graduate may be considered for our supervision only or clinic and supervision only. Thank you for your interest in DFI. Please spread the word about our clinic and training program. Your support, involvement, and referrals make all the difference. |
