Information: Michael attended undergraduate school at Vassar College in upstate New York and moved to Colorado in 1992 to complete a teacher training program. He received his teacher’s certificate in Elementary Education. Michael taught a mixed age classroom for five years in the Five Points region of Denver. He entered the University of Denver Graduate School of Social Work in 1997. As he became interested in family therapy, he entered the Denver Family Institute as an intern for advanced training in Marital and Family Therapies. Michael has always been interested in performing arts and public speaking, and was interested in parallels between these activities and those that occur in the "live supervision process of Family Therapy." He completed DFI in May 2002. This experience led him to his current interest in teaching and supervising Marriage and Family Therapists. Michael is currently a therapist and supervisor for the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center’s Synergy Multisystemic Treatment Program. He is also Assistant Director of the Denver Family Institute. At DFI his duties include teaching, supervising and administering the program. Michael also has been in private practice in Denver since 2002. Raised in the suburbs of Chicago, Michael is married with two children. He enjoys creative writing, travel and time with his wife and kids.
